National Alcohol Screening Day® (NASD) is an annual awareness event that provides
education about alcohol and health as well as free, anonymous screening for
alcohol use problems. The program is designed to provide outreach, screening and
education about alcohol's effects on health for the general public. Due to funding
restrictions, a limited number of NASD 2007 event kits are available for use in
2008 for a $20 fee (to cover shipping and related costs). Year-round, online screening
for community members is also available through a link embedded on the sponsoring
organization's website for a fee of $195. Community-based organizations are eligible
to register for the online screening module, including hospitals, treatment centers,
mental health clinics, social service agencies and faith-based organizations.
To register for an event kit or online screening module, download and complete
the registration form.
